HUSTLE EATS: Folks Folly Steakhouse (Memphis, TN)
I am not a foodie but the gesture of breaking bread is one of the best luxuries this life has to offer. So my latest installment of HUSTLE EATS takes me to Memphis, Tennessee for a romantic dinner for two at the famed FOLKS FOLLY Steakhouse. An upscale venue with the perfectly dimly lit ambiance; there are what appears to be infinite secret rooms and private areas that make each patron feel as important as the top Mob Boss in any Martin Scorsese film. So right away I’m thinking this is where all of the ‘wise guys’ hang out so I kept my photos and videos to a minimum to not ‘blow my cover’
STARTERS:
Caesar Salad - Very rich dressing. Crispy and fresh lettuce; I’m not the biggest salad guy around but something about this dish screamed 5 star dining!
She-Crab Soup - My first time with ‘she-crab soup’ I would dabble again in the future. I am not the biggest fan of crab meat so I normally avoid it but this a pleasant surprise; the creamy soup was warming to my inside which was exactly what I did not know I needed during that brisk Valentines evening.
Catfish Beignet Nuggets - A sucker for fried catfish; I know that isn’t the typical pairing we are used to seeing at a steakhouse; but I just had to give it a try…especially in the south.
ENTREES:
NY Strip paired with the “Twice Baked” Potato -
Ribeye paired with Jalepano x “3 cheese Mac”
